GMAT Exam

The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a standardized computer-adaptive test used for admission to graduate management programs such as MBA. The latest version, the GMAT Focus Edition, lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes and includes three sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Data Insights. Test-takers can choose the section order and may review and edit a limited number of answers in each section.

• Test Structure (GMAT Focus Edition):
  • Verbal Reasoning: 23 questions in 45 minutes
  • Quantitative Reasoning: 21 questions in 45 minutes
  • Data Insights: 20 questions in 45 minutes
• Computer-Adaptive: The difficulty adjusts based on test-taker performance.
• Flexibility: Test-takers may choose section order and edit up to three responses per section.
• Scoring: Total score ranges from 205 to 805. Unofficial score is available immediately after the exam, and official score within a few days.
• Score Reports: Up to five complimentary score reports can be sent to schools within 48 hours.
• Validity: GMAT scores remain valid for five years.
• Retakes: Up to five attempts per year, with a mandatory 16-day gap between attempts.
• Age Requirement: Minimum age is 18. Candidates aged 13–17 need parental consent.
• Academic Requirement: A bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory to take the GMAT.

Attempt Limits

• 12-Month Limit: Up to five attempts within a rolling 12-month period
• Between Attempts: A mandatory 16-day waiting period
• Lifetime Limit: Maximum of eight attempts in a lifetime
• Perfect Score Rule: If a perfect score is achieved, reattempt allowed only after five years
